STRUTTS Business and Community Centre

We would like to collect ideas from anyone with an interest in the building about how it might be developed for mixed community and commercial use in the future. The development might occur all at once or be phased in as money becomes available and user demands become clearer. Based on local consultation, the Belper Civic Forum has established some basic needs for the site:

• Sufficient commercial use to pay for the community use with options for each sharing space such as reception areas, meeting rooms, parking and facilities.
• No changes to the core structure and layout of the building that would deter from its listed building status.
• Adequate parking and access.
• Retention of the main hall in public use.
• Adequate facilities for performance and rehearsal of plays, musical theatre and music including changing rooms, storage and scenery workshops.

Two schemes have been generated independently so far for consideration by the Belper Civic Forum.
